Relief food

All programs

WCC delivers relief food assistance to communities facing acute hunger, supporting malnourished households and coordinating with nutrition and health partners across Somalia.

Detailed scope

Food insecurity remains a critical threat to women and children in Somalia. WCC provides targeted food distributions to households affected by famine conditions, displacement, and loss of livelihoods.

Relief food programs are linked with nutrition screening, health referrals, and livelihood recovery so families can move from dependency toward self-reliance.

WCC works through community committees to ensure fair targeting, transparent distribution, and accountability to beneficiaries.

Key interventions

  • General food distributions to vulnerable households
  • Targeted food support for malnourished families
  • Coordination with nutrition treatment programs
