Overcoming Educational Barriers to Inspire the Next Generation
Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of vulnerability in Somalia, yet millions of children remain out of school. Widespread economic hardship, persistent environmental shocks, displacement, and inadequate classroom infrastructure create steep hurdles for families seeking quality learning for their children.
These challenges disproportionately impact young girls, displaced populations (IDPs), and children with special needs. High dropout rates are further driven by a shortage of trained female teachers, long travel distances to safe facilities, and insufficient learning supplies. Without targeted intervention, entire generations risk being left behind without foundational literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
