Human Rights & Good Governance
Advancing civic engagement, fundamental rights, and accountable governance in Somalia
In many conflict-affected communities across Somalia, systemic inequalities, displacement, and weak civic infrastructure restrict marginalized groups — particularly women, youth, and minority populations — from exercising their fundamental rights. Persistent risks of gender-based violence, limited legal literacy, and fragile local governance structures hinder long-term stability and social cohesion.
WCCO's Human Rights & Good Governance Program is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, transparent society where human dignity is upheld, public institutions remain accountable, and every individual has safe access to justice and civil participation.
